The software FLOCO® (Field Layout Concept Optimizer) automatically generates offshore production system concepts, based on the extensive range of components, equipments, systems and resources available in the oil and gas industry. After the automatic concept options generation, the software organizes and rank the concepts, based on economic indexes, such as CAPEX, OPEX, NPV, IRR and PAYBACK.
The software FLOCO® has been developed with the focus on the needs of Exploration & Production (E&P) and Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) Companies, in the pursuit of maximizing returns on investments in offshore oil and gas production systems projects.
The program has been developed for use in the phases of opportunity assessment (FEL 1) and definition of conceptual alternatives (FEL 2) and can also be used as a support tool in the generation of cost estimates in the following phases of the project.
The competitive advantage of FLOCO® is the meta-heuristic modeling, based on standard engineering formulation applied to a wide range of concept archetypes, allowing an automatic process of concept generation including the sensitivity analysis for the main parameters.
In order to support the conceptual assessment process, the software generates the main required deliverables in the phases FEL-1 and FEL-2, such as layouts, hydraulic diagrams and material take-off.
